NARGE SLIVERS
In what should have been his eponymous solo debut -- a milestone derailed by a typographical error -- Narge Silvers made a bold statement as a singer/songwriter. Taking a cue from the likes of Gordon Lightfoot and Harry Chapin, Silvers crafted an album's worth of acoustic fables, described by the composer himself as "socially-conscious condescensions."

With Microgram's first ever Silvers reissue, listeners will be treated to remastered versions of "Don't Turn Your Back on the Homeless (Hooker, She's Not to be Trusted) as well as "So You Give to Charity, Big Fucking Deal" and "Feed the Hungry (Hooker and Maybe She'll Act Like She's Into It)."

Silvers' vocals have always soared high above his brilliant fingerpicking, but now they're punched up even brighter in the mix. You simply have to experience the new remaster of "They're Starving Children in China (But Clearly Not Enough -- How Can One Country Have a Billion People?!)" Tracks like "(I Want to) Love Your Neighbour" and "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes (But Don't Trust That Hooker)" sound so improved, you'll swear the album was recorded yesterday.

The Deluxe CD/DVD Edition features five bonus tracks co-written by Silvers with a then-unknown Alan Thicke. The long out-of-print making-of documentary, "Slivers & Gold," is included on DVD.
